ABC Life Literacy Canada's exclusive fundraiser Letters for Literacy, helps to raise funds for literacy and acknowledge the heroes who stand behind the cause. It may be hard to imagine, but 42% of Canada's adult population is not equipped with the literacy skills needed to cope with the demands of everyday life and work in our advanced society.
Letters of the alphabet can be purchased by businesses and individuals for $5,770 each to help achieve our goal of raising $150,000. Your name will then be printed beside the letter purchased in a printed recognition advertisement.
Funds raised will help ABC Life Literacy Canada provide:
- Impactful literacy programming including Family Literacy Day reaching over 1 million Canadians in every province and territory across the nation
- Critical 'Look Under LEARN' awareness campaign directing tens of thousands of adult learners to literacy help in their community
- Innovative and relevant research to help Canadians combat low levels of literacy
- Crucial assistance for employers to implement workplace literacy
- Free literacy resources for non-profit literacy groups, libraries, schools, youth clubs and businesses
Supporters of the Letters for Literacy program will receive the following benefits:
- Your logo included beside the letter purchased appearing in at least one major publication (i.e. 2010 Media Partners were The Province and The Toronto Star)
- Promotion on abclifeliteracy.ca/lfl including a link to supporter's website
- Promotion on Twitter, Facebook, and ABC Life Literacy Canada newsletter distributed to over 1,800 school, business, library, literacy and community partners
- The letter(s) you have purchased for you to proudly display in your office
- Alignment with the literacy cause and recognition as a literacy hero in your community
